Job Title: Operations Leader

Location: Barrow-In-Furness, Onsite

Salary: Up to £53,000 depending on experience

Job Description:

As an Operations Leader, you will manage, lead, and develop teams to ensure delivery of work scopes safely, on time, and within budget. You will support a Team of technicians, providing guidance, coaching, and operational direction to achieve high-quality outcomes aligned with customer and business requirements.

Core duties:

  • Lead and manage teams, providing guidance, coaching, and expertise to deliver operational targets efficiently
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-organised working environment meeting all Health & Safety requirements
  • Support Technicians development, enabling effective leadership and operational delivery
  • Plan, organise, and execute work activities to meet cost, quality, and schedule targets
  • Coordinate and facilitate team activities, removing barriers and ensuring efficient delivery
  • Drive performance while maintaining high standards and meeting all SQCDP performance targets
  • Resolve operational issues in real time, following defined escalation and issue management processes

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience in operational leadership, managing teams in a technical or industrial environment
  • Ample coaching and mentoring skills to develop colleagues and support effective teamwork
  • Ability to plan, organise, and deliver work safely, on time, and within budget
  • Experience on CNC machinery & Operating systems
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at all levels
  • Experience in implementing continuous improvement and process adherence in operational teams

The Site, Infrastructure and Facilities Team:

You will join a critical function ensuring safe, compliant, and operational physical estates and infrastructure, supporting current and future submarine programmes, with opportunities for career growth and exposure to varied technical projects.
