Job Title: IT Business Analyst

Location: : Hybrid – Home office optional; Leeds, Frimley, London, Manchester

What you’ll be doing

  • Carry out business‑analysis activities for high‑complexity, high‑priority programmes and projects, ensuring that portfolios roadmap is delivered on time and within scope
  • Produce, track and report on agreed business‑analysis artefacts, keeping progress aligned with project plans and stakeholder expectations.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to capture, analyse and prioritise requirements that enable effective optimisation of business change initiatives.
  • Uphold and promote professional standards, accountability, equality, diversity and clarity of purpose; review analysis processes for compliance with corporate governance and IT strategy.
  • Communicate the IT business‑analysis and demand‑management strategy, supporting its continuous refinement and integration across the functional area.
  • Advise on the business benefits of alternative solutions and on the alignment between IT proposals and business objectives.
  • Maintain deep technical knowledge of key applications, networks and specialist domains, providing expert advice and specialist consultancy where required.

Your skills and experiences

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum five years’ experience in IT/business or industry, with at least three years on diverse programmes and projects.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver against financial and resource constraints.
  • Solid experience delivering change across local, national and international programmes of IT change.
  • Strong business acumen: industry‑specific knowledge of the enterprise, its units and current trends.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to translate complex objectives into clear, persuasive business terms.
  • Demonstrated experience managing upwards and influencing decision‑makers through political awareness and the informal power structure.

  • End‑to‑end delivery experience across solution definition, design and implementation.
  • Analytical, strategic‑planning and execution capability.
  • Ability to think both tactically and strategically to solve business challenges.
  • Empathetic, adaptive communicator who tailors style to diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Relevant IT or business degree, or an equivalent vocational qualification (e.g. HNC, Prince2 Foundation, BCS BA Diploma).
  • Experience in consultancy or people‑management roles is an advantage.
