Job Description

Job Title: Information Security Data Analyst

Location: Various UK sites. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: Up to £58,800 dependent on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Taking the lead in building and shaping the Information Security Data Analytics capability within the Naval Ships Business Unit placing data‑driven insight at the heart of security decision making
  • Designing, developing and maintaining high impact security dashboards that fuse qualitative and quantitative data from Security and IM&T, giving real time visibility of the threat landscape facing BAE Systems Naval Ships
  • Interrogating complex data sets to uncover hidden patterns, correlations, anomalies, and early indicators of compromise
  • Presenting compelling analytical insights to Security & IM&T, transforming raw data into actionable intelligence that drives decisive security actions
  • Interpreting data related to security incidents, vulnerabilities and threat intelligence to provide early warning of emerging threats and guide proactive defence
  • Delivering detailed analysis of current and evolving external threat actors, helping protect Naval Ships’ Information Security posture
  • Managing the creation and delivery of both Business Unit and Sector level reporting, offering a clear, data anchored view of the organisation’s security health
  • Supporting strategic planning and driving continual improvement within the Security function through evidence‑based recommendations
  • Acting as a subject matter expert in Intelligence and Threat Analysis, shaping how Naval Ships harness data to defend critical systems

Your skills and experiences:

  • Considerable understanding of Information and Cyber Security principles and practices
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills, enabling you to influence diverse stakeholders through data led insights
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with experience producing sophisticated analytical reports and delivering impactful presentations
  • Ability to conduct security risk assessments and produce deliverables aligned with Information Assurance frameworks
  • Highly capable of managing, analysing and interpreting large, complex data sets, transforming them into intelligence that informs strategic security decisions

Information Security Team:

We have an exciting opportunity for an Information Security Data Analyst to play a pivotal role in helping Security and IM&T understand the threats and behaviours affecting our IT and OT environment. You will generate deep analytical insights, identify developing risks, and provide clear recommendations to counter these threats.

This role blends analytical expertise with technical curiosity, enabling you to combine, correlate and contextualise data from internal and external sources. You will produce advanced security analysis and deliver intelligence directly to senior members of the Security and IT functions becoming a key contributor in safeguarding our most critical assets.
