Role Description

We’re offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced ICT Team Lead to join our JORN ICT Group, based in Adelaide (or willing to relocate from interstate — with relocation benefits provided). In this role, you will lead a team of ICT Engineers responsible for analysing, designing, and delivering technical solutions that support both new capability development and the sustainment of existing systems.

This is an onsite position located at DSTG or Edinburgh Parks in South Australia.

Core Duties:

  • Provide day‑to‑day leadership, supervision, and guidance to a team of ICT Engineers.
  • Manage priorities, workloads, and progress of system changes to meet agreed schedules and delivery timelines.
  • Support the ICT Manager with strategic planning and contribute to long‑term team and program strategy.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop engineers, supporting their technical growth and career progression.
  • Coach team members to achieve their development goals and uphold high performance standards.
  • Manage employee performance against defined objectives and behavioural expectations.
  • Identify training needs, skill gaps, and opportunities for professional development.
  • Ensure all team activities comply with engineering processes, procedures, and relevant management plans.
  • Champion best‑practice engineering methods and continuous improvement across the program.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support the successful execution of ICT activities.

About YOU

  • Experience working in an ICT environment, including exposure to networking, operating systems, and applications.
  • Background in ICT or Systems Engineering with a solid understanding of engineering practices and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing people in a technical environment.
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and deliver outcomes aligned with customer and business needs.
  • Proven capability to operate confidently within a project team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain an NV1 clearance.
