Location: Rochester – onsite
Salary: Circa £32,000 dependent on skills & experiences

Role description:
Delivering a proactive, customer-focused HR service that supports the overall HR strategy, you’ll be providing guidance and advice to managers and employees on employee relations, policies and procedures, and contribute to the delivery of key HR projects across the organisation.
As the HR Officer you will operate effectively in a fast-paced environment by managing priorities and working proactively. Build strong, inclusive relationships and communicate clearly with people at all levels to ensure a positive and supportive employee experience.
Core duties:
- Acting as first point of contact for HR queries, providing clear, consistent, and inclusive policy-based guidance
- Supporting Senior HR Advisors with employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, and performance matters
- Assisting investigations by preparing documentation, coordinating meetings, note-taking, and supporting formal hearings as required
- Coaching managers on people processes and best practice, escalating complex or high-risk issues appropriately
- Managing absence processes, liaising with Occupational Health, maintaining records, and supporting wellbeing and attendance initiatives
- Contributing to recruitment, onboarding, HR systems, policy updates, and continuous improvement projects enhancing employee experience
Essential skills:
- CIPD Level 3 qualified, or motivated to achieve, with a proactive approach to continuous development
- Experience in HR roles, supporting core processes, handling queries, and applying policies, procedures, and employment legislation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, engaging sensitively and inclusively with diverse stakeholders at all levels
- Demonstrates integrity, discretion, and confidentiality, building trust and positive working relationships across the organisation
- Organised and adaptable, prioritising effectively while solving problems using sound judgement and analytical thinking
- Confident using HR systems and data, with awareness of GDPR; union experience and delivering training is advantageous
