Job title: Graduate Head Office Data Analytics

Location: Frimley (Surrey) or Preston (Lancashire) We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – however for this role you will be expected to attend your site 3-4 days per week.

Salary: £34,000 Per Annum + £2,000 Welcome Bonus

Role description

The role of the Data Centre of Expertise within BAE Systems Head Office is to enable, govern and assure our use of data across BAE Systems. This includes data strategy, management, architecture, exploitation and skills. As a Graduate in this team, you will work on a range of initiatives, engaging with colleagues across the business to create common approaches to working with data, make sure the right tools are in place to manage and exploit it, and to drive the investment in people needed to ensure we have data skills across our Sectors and Functions. You will play a part in engaging with our stakeholders, developing best practices, and defining the right data solutions to particular problems. You will collaborate with experienced professionals from across the global company gaining invaluable insight as to how the whole company works to satisfy its customers and deliver on its commitments.

Core duties

• Data Strategy – support in defining, and advocating for, the vision for greater use of data, analytics and AI across the Company.
• Data Management – leading and coordinating activities across the business to ensure our data is secure, standardised and fit for purpose.
• Data Architecture – setting out the patterns for how we capture and manage data so that it is ready to exploit when we need it.
• Data Exploitation – working with business stakeholders to understand the opportunities and dependencies for more use of analytics. and AI to deliver value.
• Data Skills – improving the knowledge and skills of all our employees, so that they have greater confidence in their use of data, analytics and AI.

Our aim will be to give you the chance to get exposed to a range of these activities, working alongside more experienced professionals to learn new skills and contribute to our work.

Please be aware that many roles at BAE Systems are subject to both security and export control restrictions. These restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any nationalities you may have previously held, and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation. All applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.

Qualification requirements

As a minimum requirement you must have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in the following subjects: Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Software & Systems Engineering or Data Science

Start date: 6th September 2027 Length of contract: Permanent contract
