Job title: Forklift Operative

What you’ll be doing:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the day to day running of a jetty/dock yard
  • Seeking to deliver high standards of Service Excellence by meeting the customer’s objectives in a safe, reliable and cost effective manner
  • The number one priority of the role is to effectively maximize the efficiency in the method of delivery of all jetty activities
  • Support the Team leader to ensure the efficient running of the Jetty and maintain a high level of service
  • Undertake all aspects of the Jetty Operative jobs including: Forklift assistance to Warships repair projects
  • Prepare waterfront/jetty for COB rounds
  • Provide transport of projects materials

Your skills and experiences:

  • Fork Lifting experience / B1 Forklift Licence and driving Licence required (essential)
  • Extensive background within warehousing and logistics facilities
  • Ability to learn and open to take training in other MHE equipment

The BAE Warehouse/Jetty Team:

The logistics team at Portsmouth naval Base plays a critical role supporting warships, projects and operations by efficiently managing the delivery and distribution of vital materials. We ensure that equipment, supplies and resources are delivered on time and in the right condition to meet the needs of the fleet and associated projects. Our teams work closely to the MOD to address logistical challenges and support the overall success of naval missions.
