Role Description:

The role holder serves as the primary and sole finance lead for the Qatar programme, acting as a trusted business partner to the Vice President Qatar and a key contributor to the Senior Leadership Team. This position plays a critical role in driving financial insight, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring alignment between in-country operations and wider organisational objectives, working closely with finance and cross-functional teams across both Qatar and the UK.

Responsible for overseeing all in-country financial governance, the role ensures full compliance with local tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements. This includes close collaboration with UK-based entity teams, as well as effective engagement with external auditors, tax authorities, and Group finance functions to maintain robust financial integrity and transparency.

Additionally, the role holder is accountable for establishing, maintaining, and continuously improving financial controls within Qatar, providing assurance to leadership that these controls are both effective and consistently applied in a complex, high-value programme environment.

Core duties:

  • To make timely and appropriate decisions to impact Qatar Programme financials providing the shop window to internal & external parties on Qatar financial performance
  • Providing financial analysis, insight and influence in SLT decision making to drive margin expansion, cash conversion and value creation
  • Providing robust and timely financial reporting of the Qatar business into UK&I/Air/Group Finance and relevant external bodies
  • Be accountable and responsible for driving financial performance of the programme. Along with providing leadership, key insights and assumptions into the supporting project finance teams
  • Responsible for managing all in-country tax and entity reporting requirements, working closely with UK entity teams and liaising with auditors, tax authorities, and Group finance. Accountable for establishing and maintaining robust financial controls in Qatar, providing assurance of their effectiveness

Essential Skills:

  • Demonstrated success working across international markets, effectively navigating diverse cultures and business environments
  • Proven ability to operate within large, complex matrix organisations, influencing across multiple stakeholders
  • Considerable experience contributing to and leading multi-functional project teams, with team management capability
  • Established track record as a Finance Business Partner, delivering insight to support strategic decision-making
  • Holds an internationally recognised finance qualification, underpinning good technical expertise

The Finance Team:

You will lead a small, high-impact team, with direct line management responsibility for one team member, alongside broader coordination of the Qatar finance team. In this role, you will provide informal leadership and direction across in-country finance activities, ensuring alignment, collaboration, and consistent delivery. You will also play a key role in setting priorities, driving performance, and acting as the central point of leadership within the Qatar finance function.
