Job Description

Job title: Events and Marketing Associate

Location: Warton with occasional travel for different events

Salary: £49,400+ dependant on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • You will be working with a range of internal and external stakeholders including suppliers and customers to proactively plan, develop and implement events along with helping develop supporting marketing ideas and collateral to promote BAE Systems’ Air Sector in a variety of UK and international markets and venues
  • To enable this, you will work toward the development of event design briefs and manage planning meetings, as well as managing budgets and export paperwork. Around implementation, you will arrange all delivery and logistical event elements
  • The role demands both excellent organisation skills to plan, manage and deliver events to schedule and budget, as well as creativity to bring to life the contribution and impact of the Air Sector through event design / presence and the accompanying content and marketing ideas
  • You will work closely with members of the Air Sector Senior Leadership Team and the Air Sector external and internal communications teams to help co-create events from the planning stage
  • You will also work with those stakeholders to jointly identify and develop creative marketing material and solutions to complement our events activities to help promote the business’ key strategic themes and objectives

Your skills and experiences:

  • Excellent organisational skill and project management skills, with a good understanding of project management and associated toolsets
  • Understanding of marketing / marcomms basics, and marketing measurement tools
  • Experience of managing budgets and finance processes
  • Knowledge of Communications and Business Development functions and their roles within the Business
  • Ability to identify key deliverables, develop a plan to achieve targets and meet key deadlines
  • Ability to spot a creative opportunity and a key eye for detail
  • Be proficient in Excel and PowerPoint

The Air Sector Events team

The Air Sector Events team is at the heart of positioning BAE Systems’ Air Sector at trade shows and events in the UK and overseas, as well as on customer sites, telling our story while showcasing our technologies and products that help protect those that protect us.

You will have the opportunity to work on all sizes of events both in the UK and in overseas markets, with plenty of opportunity for travel. You will also have the opportunity to help shape how visitors experience the Air Sector on our sites through work on visitor experience projects.
