About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a new opportunity for an Engineer – Weight Accounting to join our Maritime Australiabusiness on the Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP) based at Osborne, Adelaide location.
Reporting to the Weight Manager, you will be responsible to process weight and CoG information to allow monitoring of lightship weight and CoG against budgets.
More specifically, you will:
- Extracting Weight and Centre of Gravity information from Bills of Materials and Product Design System (Foran)
- Checking veracity of data and liaising with part owners to address any missing or anomalous information
- Entering weight and Centre of Gravity information into Weight Accounting Database
- Attending Weekly Meetings with Discipline Leads & Weight Team
- Providing weekly status reports
- Assessing Product Changes and the impact they will have on the Lightship
- Liaising with Change Owners to establish weight risks from Product Changes
- Creating Technical Budgets to manage the levels of Change to Lightship & Design Margin
- Reviewing Procpack & Supplier information
About YOU
- Experience in engineering or defence related industry desirable
- Good numeracy skills and knowledge of data processing fundamentals
- Proficient in the use of Excel
- Ability to follow detailed process instructions
- Communication Skills, able to liaise by telephone to people of all levels
- Experience of working with large amounts of data
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
