Job Description:
This is a critical role within the UK Employee Relations Centre of Excellence, providing expert guidance on complex employee relations matters across the business. Acting as a trusted adviser to managers, HR colleagues and senior stakeholders, the role ensures legally compliant, commercially balanced and people-focused outcomes. Alongside managing a diverse portfolio of complex ER cases, the successful candidate will help shape the future of employee relations through continuous improvement, innovation and the adoption of new technologies. Their expertise supports risk mitigation, enhances manager capability and contributes directly to a positive colleague experience and organisational performance.
Core duties:
- You will lead resolution of complex employee relations cases, including investigations, disciplinaries, grievances and other complex people matters
- Ensure you coach and develop managers to confidently address people issues, make decisions and mitigate risk
- Provide pragmatic, commercially focused and legally compliant advice to influence stakeholder outcomes
- You will identify, assess and appropriately escalate legal, reputational and organisational risks
- Drive continuous improvement through technology adoption, process optimisation and knowledge sharing
Essential Skills:
- Demonstrable knowledge of the Acas Code of Practice, employment legislation and current case law
- Proven experience independently managing complex, high-risk employee relations cases, applying sound judgement, risk assessment and appropriate escalation
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build credibility at all levels
The Case Coaching Team:
Part of the UK Employee Relations Centre of Excellence, the Case Coaching Team is a highly collaborative network of ER specialists. The team partners with managers across the business to provide pragmatic advice, build management capability, manage complex risk and deliver fair, consistent employee relations outcomes.
