About the OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Manager – GFx Materials to join our AUKUS program based in Adelaide or Melbourne. reporting to the Head of Supply Chain – Establishment.

We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage and expediting GF Materials interfacing with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and risk mitigation.
  • Lead supplier interactions ensuring market risk and suppliers ability to deliver on time to the highest levels of quality is understood and delivered to program requirements
  • Develop and Implement program specific GF material management processes utilising procurement policies determined by the Supply Chain function ensuring compliance with the relevant acts, legislative requirements and ethical standards.
  • Coordinate the supplier evaluation process and support sourcing recommendations on behalf of the business.
  • Taking ownership of building cross functional relationships with Project stakeholders to bring about timely decisions.

About YOU

  • Prior defence experience is preferred.
  • Completion of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) would be advantageous in this position.
  • Strong commercial/legal skills and acumen with a proven capability in contract negotiation and contract management.
  • Ability to interact effectively with colleagues within and outside their immediate team, to implement business requirements
  • The ability to form strong working relationships in a project environment, with key suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Subcontract program management skills such as risk management, supplier quality assurance, scheduling is desired
