Role Description:

Ready to make a real impact? We’re looking for a Continuous Improvement Specialist to help drive smarter, faster, and more efficient ways of working across our Hunter Program.

Reporting to the Business Improvement Manager, you’ll lead and facilitate Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives that challenge existing processes, unlock efficiencies, and leverage new technologies. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders across teams and functions to deliver improvements that truly move the needle.

You’ll also play a key role in coaching and empowering our workforce, building CI capability through tools and methodologies and fostering a strong culture of continuous improvement.

Core Duties:

  • Work with the business to identify and support Continuous Improvement opportunities, process improvements and implementation solutions
  • Engage with stakeholders to oversee and monitor formal Hunter Program Continuous Improvement (CI) projects from initiation to implementation
  • Use layout and process flow principles to optimise new and existing business processes
  • Utilise Continuous Improvement (CI) tools, techniques, and activities to identify and support improvement opportunities
  • Manage a Continuous Improvement (CI) register and related reporting metrics
  • Review and implement Continuous Improvement (CI) actions by collaborating with action owners and facilitating inquiries as needed
  • Promote and influence a culture of improvement, innovation and change within the Enterprise
  • Champion the adoption and utilisation of CI tools and techniques
  • Review and audit for process conformance

Essential Skills:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (desirable, but not essential)
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification (advantageous)
  • Previous experience in using either or both the Waterfall and Agile Project Methodology
  • Previous exposure to the Manufacturing Industry, particularly within shipbuilding is desirable but not essential
  • Ability to partner with and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to obtain the necessary deliverables
  • Capability to identify and solve complex problems, think critically and innovate
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Previous experience in either Automation or AI (Desirable, but not essential)
  • Eligibility to obtain a defence security clearance to the level of Negative Vetting 1 (NV1)
