Job Description

Job Title: Competitive Intelligence Associate

Location: Portsmouth Broad Oak, all other BAE sites will be considered. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Up to £44,000 dependent on experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supports business development and capture activities through assessing defence market trends, identifies competitors’ products and derives competitors’ likely approaches and strategies for key growth opportunities

  • Uses multiple information sources to gather a wide range of quantitative and qualitative data to create intelligence and understanding in support of capture and opportunity strategy decisions

  • Analyses information, interprets and disseminates the resultant intelligence around the local or wider Business as appropriate

  • Compiles marketing, product, and country plans for market and competitive intelligence perspective

  • Provides detailed analytical skills and modelling, including what-if analysis, and identifying the “so what” and proposing ideas/actions/solutions

  • Designs and implements a Competitive Intelligence capability for the business/sector, leading others to execute. This role provides the opportunity to define the processes, toolsets and ways of working

Your skills and experiences:

  • Detailed Market & Competitive Analysis skills/knowledge/experience

  • Experience in defence or has experience in similar technologically complex product environments

  • Considerable analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Experience of working in a business winning / bidding /growth environment

  • Experience of operating within a customer environment

  • Qualified to Degree standard or equivalent

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Can confidently brief Capture Teams in a professional and articulate manner

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple deadlines and competing priorities, and respond to urgent requirements

The Maritime and Land BD Operations team:

This position is within the Maritime and Land BD Operations team that sits within Defence Solutions but supports the whole sector with business winning services. The role will work alongside a Price to Win expert within the team who is responsible for the Price to Win aspects.
