Job Description

The Business Development Manager is responsible for
driving organic growth for BSL by identifying, developing and converting new
business opportunities across HR Outsourcing, Training and Procurement
Outsourcing services. The role will proactively develop relationships with
existing and prospective customers, understand their business requirements and
work with BSL’s operational functions to develop tailored solutions that
address those requirements.

The Business Development Manager will own and develop
a portfolio of strategic accounts and prospects, build qualified pipeline,
progress opportunities through the business development lifecycle and support
their conversion into contracted business. The role will represent BSL
externally at customer meetings, industry events, exhibitions, business
councils and other relevant forums, and will provide market, customer and
competitor intelligence to support BSL’s growth strategy.Working under the direction of the Head of
Growth, the Business Development Manager will take ownership of assigned
accounts and opportunities and progress them through the business development
lifecycle

· Proactively
identify, develop and qualify new business opportunities through customer
engagement, market research, networking and industry relationships.

· Expand
network and customer base for all BSL services including HR Outsourcing
Services, Procurement Outsourcing Services and Training Services.

· Build
and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients,
including senior decision-makers, to understand their requirements, develop
tailored solutions and drive revenue growth.

· Own
and develop a portfolio of assigned customers and prospects, maintaining
regular engagement and progressing relationships into qualified business
opportunities.

· Represent
BSL at customer meetings, exhibitions, conferences, embassy, chamber of
commerce and business council events and other relevant external forums, with a
focus on developing relationships and generating business opportunities.

· Work
closely with the HRO, Training and Procurement Outsourcing and Commercial teams
to translate customer requirements into appropriate BSL solutions and
propositions.

· Maintain
complete, accurate and timely CRM records for assigned customers, engagements,
leads and opportunities, ensuring the CRM provides an accurate representation
of business development activity and pipeline.

· Conduct
market research to identify new business opportunities and develop strategies
to capitalize on them and identify trends and opportunities for growth.

· Lead
the development of business plans, sales pitches, presentations, and other
relevant documents.

· Prepare
and present sales proposals, quotations and contracts to potential clients.

· Collaborate
with the pricing and contracts teams to implement growth strategies and
business development / sales plans.

· Provide
regular updates and reports on business development activities and
achievements.

· Stay
up-to-date with industry trends and competitor analysis to inform business
development strategies and identify potential threats and opportunities.

· Assist
with implementing marketing and communications strategies to support business
objectives, drive brand awareness, and increase market share.

· Analyze
market trends and consumer behavior to provide insights and recommendations for
marketing campaigns.

· Collaborate
with the pricing and contracts team to develop marketing materials, create
targeted campaigns, develop and implement effective sales strategies, client
service plans and retention strategies.

· Track
and report on key performance indicators to measure the success of marketing
initiatives.

· Provide
customer and commercial input into BSL’s marketing, communications, exhibitions
and external engagement activities to ensure they support business development
objectives.

· Contribute
to the organisation of promotional events, such as exhibitions and trade shows.

  • Support Bid / No Bid decisions and contribute
    customer intelligence, win strategy, value proposition and commercial
    positioning to proposal development, working with the BD & Growth
    Operations Specialist and relevant business functions

· Customer
Relations & Opportunity Generation:
Expansion of BSL’s customer network, quality of customer engagement and
generation of qualified business opportunities.

· Account
Development: Effective development of assigned
customers and prospects, including progression of relationships into
identifiable opportunities.

· Revenue
Generation: Revenue generated through business
development efforts, including sales from new clients, upselling existing
clients and any other revenue streams.

· Win
and conversion rate (Effectiveness and Satisfaction): Improved win rate and conversion of leads into contracts. Percentage of leads
that convert into paying customers.

· Customer
Satisfaction: Improved customer satisfaction rate
including responsiveness and alignment with proposal quality and effectiveness.

· Pipeline
Value: The total value of all opportunities in the sales
funnel.

  • BSL Group Events: improved management of BSL group events and outcome
    for new business opportunities

Requirements

· Bachelor’s
degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field

· Demonstrable
experience in B2B business development, consultative sales or account
development, with evidence of personally identifying, developing and
progressing new business opportunities.

· Demonstrable
experience building relationships with senior customer stakeholders and
decision-makers.

· Willingness
and ability to maintain an active external presence through customer meetings,
networking and industry engagement.

· Strong
commercial awareness and ability to understand customer requirements and
translate them into commercially viable solutions.

· Excellent
communication, presentation and negotiation skills

· Good
analytical skills, ability to interpret data and problem-solving abilities

· Ability
to work independently and as part of a team

· Proficiency
in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software

· Ability
to thrive in a fast-paced and target-driven environment

· Good
organizational and time management skills

· Ability
to effectively communicate complex information to stakeholders at all levels of
the organization.

· Knowledge
of industry best practices and current marketing trends

· Flexibility
to adapt to changing priorities and work on multiple projects simultaneously

· Deep
understanding of market dynamics and consumer behavior.
