Job purpose:

The post holder is responsible to the Senior Boat Instructor for: the delivery of small powerboat training to Royal Saudi Naval Forces’ (RSNF) Cadets, and for supporting the delivery of a safe and professional working environment.

Responsibilities:

The post holder is responsible for:

· Delivering NTT’s prescribed standards of instruction ashore and afloat iaw the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) training syllabus;

· Supporting the Senior Boat Instructor to deliver NTT’s Safety Charter with specific attention to Cadets’ Health and Safety during Marina Operations;

· Supporting the provision of Safety cover for all water users;

· Completing all relevant paperwork relating to power boat instruction and operations, e.g. lesson plans, risk assessments, maintenance logs, accident forms;

· Supporting the maintenance of all Marina equipment;

· Carry out duties of Duty Marina Instructor (DMI) as required;

· Working with the Senior Boat Instructor to:

· support Marina activities in line with Marina SOPs/EOPs;

· maintain the Marina routine;

· conduct safe jetty and davit (slinging) operations;

· support RSNF daily training afloat and ashore;

· deal with emergency situations afloat and ashore;

· maintain VHF communications during boat operations;

· support equipment maintenance schedules;

· support the safe hosting of visitors;

· ensure the safety of all cadets and employees under his supervision;

· Deliver/assist in delivering Sea Sense training to cadets when required.

Job Requirements:

Essential

The post holder must have:

· A powerboat instructor’s qualification, namely, five (5) season’s experience of powerboating logged (preferably in range of boat types and sizes). Alternatively, in the case of former naval personnel, one season for those who use powerboats as an integral part of their normal full-time occupation and experience in an official boat instructional appointment supported by extant references.

· Have demonstrable evidence of having completed a military style Instructional Techniques course such as or similar to the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) Defence Train the Trainer (DTTT) course.

· The ability to achieve IELTS level 5.0, if not a native English.
