Location: Warton – Hybrid, 3 days a week on site per week

Salary: £51,772+ (DOE)

Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Data and Analytics function at the centre of digital transformation across the Air Sector. Working with stakeholders across Finance, Procurement, Manufacturing and other business areas, you’ll help deliver data-driven solutions that support strategy-making, operational performance and business improvement. Using modern business intelligence tools, data platforms and analytics technologies, you’ll contribute to the development of dashboards, reporting solutions, data models and governed datasets that enable valuable business insights.

Working within an Agile environment, you’ll collaborate with analysts, developers and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions. The role offers excellent opportunities to develop knowledge in business intelligence, data engineering and analytics technologies, while benefiting from structured training, mentoring and knowledge-sharing within a growing team supporting the future of data-driven strategy making across BAE Systems.

Core duties:

  • Collaborating with stakeholders, analysts and developers to understand requirements and deliver effective BI solutions
  • Building, testing and deploying business intelligence solutions in line with coding and change management standards
  • Participating in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups and progress updates
  • Performing unit testing, peer reviews and quality assurance activities to support reliable solution delivery
  • Investigating and resolving application incidents within agreed service levels to maintain business continuity

Essential Skills:

  • Demonstrable experience developing data models and creating dashboards using Tableau and/or Power BI
  • Experience using business intelligence and reporting tools such as Cognos Analytics or SSRS
  • Knowledge of release and deployment processes, including version control and change management practices
  • Tableau certification, relevant qualification, or equivalent practical experience in business intelligence development
  • Experience working with stakeholders to gather requirements, communicate solutions and support successful project delivery

The Air Data and Analytics Team:

Supporting every area of the Air Sector, this growing team delivers the data platforms, dashboards and analytics solutions that enable informed business strategies. Working across functions including Finance, Procurement and Manufacturing, the team develops data warehouses, governed datasets and reporting capabilities that drive operational performance, innovation and continuous improvement. Combining experience in data engineering, analytics, business evaluation and project delivery, the team plays a key role in advancing digital transformation and helping the business unlock greater value from its data.
