
System Planner
Job Description
Salary: £43,500 per annum
Working Pattern: Full Time or Part Time
Location: Hybrid working with 1-2 days per week in the office

We're looking for a System Planner to join our established team of planners, helping to identify operational risks, influence strategic decision-making, and support future growth.
This is a highly varied role where you'll combine analytical thinking, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills to help ensure we have the right plans and solutions in place both now and for the future.

What you'll be doing
As a System Planner, you'll play a key role in understanding and managing operational and strategic risks across your region.
You'll:
-Analyse and interpret data to identify current and future risks
-Work closely with operational teams and data owners to understand trends and opportunities
-Develop recommendations and solutions to mitigate risks and support business performance
-Support longer-term planning by identifying emerging risks, growth requirements, and future network needs
-Build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across the business
-Present insights and recommendations clearly and confidently to different audiences
-Use data-driven decision making to influence planning priorities and business outcomes
What we're looking for
We're open to candidates from a variety of backgrounds who can demonstrate strong transferable skills. We're particularly interested in people who can bring:
Essential
-Experience analysing data and generating meaningful insights (Excel, Power BI & C55)
-Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
-Experience building effective stakeholder relationships
-The ability to influence and collaborate across different teams
-Confidence working with large volumes of information and translating findings into practical solutions
Desirable
-Experience in planning, forecasting, operational analysis, or risk management
-Knowledge of infrastructure, utilities, operational planning, or similar environments
-Full UK driving licence
