Dive into a world of opportunity!

What will you be doing?

This is a role for someone ready to use their technical credibility to work with our engineers and operations to shape how Water Recycling sites perform at scale – in a team that values collaboration, learning and doing the right thing.

As a Senior Flow Process Engineer, you will sit at the heart of Anglian Water’s Catchment Flow Compliance function – bringing clarity, consistency and technical leadership to some of our most complex flow and treatment challenges. You’ll work across catchments and sites, supporting Flow Engineers and operational teams to diagnose under‑performance, understand root causes, and turn evidence into practical, sustainable improvement – while helping others grow their capability and confidence along the way.

What makes this role different is its breadth and influence. You won’t just investigate problems – you’ll shape how solutions are designed, prioritised, implemented and embedded for the long term. From process diagnostics and operational optimisation to supporting capital investment and standardising best practice, you’ll help set the technical direction for WR flow performance and environmental compliance, and play a key role in developing consistent, high‑quality ways of working across the team.

If you are motivated by technical credibility, collaboration and real‑world impact – and want to be part of a supportive, values‑led team that invests in its people – this role gives you the platform to lead, influence and make a measurable difference.

What does it take to be a Senior Process Engineer?

  • Operational experience within Water Recycling (WR) treatment processes.

  • Knowledge of flow hydraulics, including pump selection, efficiency and failure prevention.

  • Experience investigating operational issues and identifying root causes to support effective solutions.

  • Experience supporting or guiding technical teams and sharing knowledge.

  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to operational performance improvement through technical expertise.

  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Practical experience working with operational process assets.

  • Ability to analyse operational data, monitoring information and SCADA trends to identify issues and opportunities for improvement.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to a range of audiences.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions.

  • Competent in the use of standard IT systems, including Microsoft 365.

As a valued employee, you’ll be entitled to:

  • Personal private health care

  • Life cover- 8 x annual salary paid to dependents

  • 25 days annual leave – rising with length of service as well as bank holidays with the option to swap Christmas and Easter holidays for those celebrated by your religion

  • Flexible working dependent on your role

  • Competitive pension scheme – Anglian Water double-matches your contributions up to 6%

  • Bonus scheme

  • Flexible benefits to support your wellbeing and lifestyle
