Salary: Starts at £48,000 (circa dependent on skills and experience) & Car Allowance

Location : Based in the Anglian Water region — hybrid, to include home & working across operational sites and office locations as required
Contract Type: Permanent

The Role

We’re looking for a Flow Technologist to join our Water Recycling team and play a key role in driving innovation and optimisation across our catchments.

What You’ll Be Doing

Reporting to the Technology Development Manager, you’ll play a key role in driving innovation and optimisation across Water Recycling.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage, supervise and support innovative optimisation and flow‑related projects, taking them from conception through to exploitation
  • Explore, trial and test new technologies that improve flow compliance, performance and operational efficiency
  • Interpret Water Recycling optimisation, investment and maintenance strategies to identify innovative, effective solutions that support business and strategy implementation
  • Work closely with catchment flow, operational and other internal teams to understand challenges, identify key opportunities and risks, and target optimisation and flow compliance activities
  • Ensure that innovation activity across Water Recycling is aligned, joined‑up and supports wider strategic objectives
  • Provide technical input and oversight to ensure projects deliver practical, scalable outcomes
  • Build and maintain a broad internal and external network across the water industry and its supply chain, keeping up to date with emerging technologies, best practice and innovation opportunities

This is a highly collaborative role that combines technical expertise with strategic thinking, where you’ll help shape smarter, more effective ways of delivering flow compliance and optimisation across Water Recycling.

What We’re Looking For

  • Ideally possess a technical qualification to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent Categorised 3
  • Experience or knowledge within Water or Water Recycling, working on or with operational assets
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Ability to work well as part of a team, while also operating autonomously
  • Advanced IT literacy
  • Proactive and forward‑looking approach, with a proven track record in performance management
  • Ability to operate both strategically and tactically, adapting to changing priorities
  • Full UK driving licence
