Lead Data & Platform Product Strategy. Deliver Impact at Scale

This is a high-impact leadership role at the heart of Anglian Water’s data and digital transformation. As Product Manager for Data & Platforms, you’ll bridge bold product vision with real-world delivery, working closely with the Head of Product to shape how data and platform products enable the entire organisation.

You’ll turn strategy into action — setting clear product guardrails, shaping roadmaps, and empowering Product Owners and Technical Product Owners to deliver at pace and at scale. By bringing alignment, focus, and energy to the product community, you’ll ensure teams are motivated, connected, and driving meaningful outcomes.

Working across engineering, architecture, and enterprise digital teams, you’ll create strong, collaborative partnerships that enable smarter decisions and scalable, resilient platforms. You’ll operate at senior levels across the business, ensuring product strategies are fully aligned to Anglian Water’s priorities and translated into value-driven delivery.

As a leader, you’ll coach and develop senior Product Owners and Technical Product Owners, building a strong, future-ready product capability. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping product management standards, influencing strategic planning, and coordinating product strategy across complex data and technology landscapes.

What You’ll Be Doing

The Product Manager – Data & Platforms will provide strategic leadership and coaching across Product Owners (POs) and Technical Product Owners (TPOs), building a strong product management capability and ensuring teams are aligned, motivated, and delivering effectively. They will define product management guardrails, oversee performance metrics, and foster continuous learning and capability improvement across the product community.

They will own organisational product portfolio management and planning, ensuring alignment across data and platform products, collaborating with architecture, analytics, and AI teams, and translating overarching product strategy into actionable roadmaps. They will manage budgets, ROI, total cost of ownership, and risk, ensuring products deliver tangible value at scale.

The role involves senior stakeholder engagement, market insight, and product research, gathering feedback, tracking trends, and enabling colleagues to make the most of corporate data, ensuring the product strategy is competitive, innovative, and customer-focused.

What does it take to be a Product Manager Data & Platforms?

We’re looking for a strategic and experienced product leader who can drive data and platform product strategy at scale. They communicate with clarity and influence, engaging stakeholders to understand needs and negotiate priorities.

They lead strategic change, foster capability improvement, and collaborate effectively across teams to align delivery and outcomes. Experienced in Agile and Scrum ways of working, they manage backlogs, make informed decisions, and drive customer-focused innovation.

Above all, they lead with empathy, integrity, and inclusivity, inspiring teams, championing diversity, and creating a culture where everyone can thrive.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Degree or equivalent demonstrable experience in role

  • Certifications: Certifications like Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO1) PSPO2 or similar are often beneficial, Scrum at Scale

  • Scaled agile & product Management: Scaled Agile experience of working across multiple Agile teams.

  • Relevant Experience: Prior experience in product management, Agile, Scrum, DevOps modes of operation, business analysis, or a related role in software development.

  • Basic understanding of the technology stack, allowing effective communication with developers and understanding of potential technical constraints.

  • Awareness of UX principles and the value of intuitive, user-friendly designs, backed by user research and feedback mechanisms.
