We are currently looking for an Optimisation Support Engineer to join our System Optimisation team, supporting a group of Optimisation Engineers who are shaping the future of water operations.

The Optimisation Support Engineer provides engineering and technical support to the Optimisation Team within the Energy Optimisation function. Reporting to the Senior Optimisation Engineer, the role supports the delivery of a portfolio of projects focused on optimising water operations across the business.

The role involves contributing to the development of Source to Tap and Smart Water solutions through data assimilation, the use of modelling tools, targeted analytics, and project reporting. The Optimisation Support Engineer also supports the trialling of new technologies and ensures accuracy and quality within corporate data and reporting systems, helping to inform operational and strategic decision-making.

What will you be doing?

The Optimisation Support Engineer will support Optimisation Engineers in developing and delivering system-based solutions that improve the performance and efficiency of the water systems. The role will involve helping to design and cost Source to Tap and Smart Water solutions, using data analysis and modelling tools to identify opportunities to reduce operating costs and improve asset performance.

They will work with corporate data systems to gather insights, analyse asset and maintenance data, and contribute to investment proposals and project reporting. The role also includes coordinating project activity, supporting financial and procurement administration, and helping to track delivery, risks, and benefits.

In addition, the Optimisation Support Engineer will support the trial and integration of innovative Smart Water technologies, working with internal stakeholders and external partners to build business cases. They will help maintain accurate corporate data and modelling tools and, when required, provide engineering support during incidents or operational events.
