At Anglian Water, we’re Always Exploring – innovating for a resilient water future. By Doing the Right Thing, we commit to transparency, fairness, and professional growth. And by Building Trust, we put safety, quality, and collaboration at the core of everything we do.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Electrical Engineer, you’ll support the full project lifecycle – from feasibility studies and design through to construction and commissioning. You’ll ensure compliance with technical standards while seeking opportunities for innovation and efficiency.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing technical deliverables such as calculations, data sheets, and specifications
  • Designing electrical systems for clean water or waste water treatment plants
  • Developing and integrating control, monitoring, and telemetry systems
  • Designing instrumentation systems and main incoming electrical supply arrangements
  • Delivering electrical installation designs, including for hazardous areas
  • Preparing subcontract specifications and undertaking technical bid evaluations
  • Ensuring compliance with CDM regulations, health and safety requirements, and quality processes
  • Attending site surveys and providing technical support during delivery
  • Monitoring progress against cost and programme, escalating issues where required
  • Driving innovation by researching and introducing new processes, tools, and ways of working

About You

You’re a motivated and collaborative electrical engineer with a strong technical background and enthusiasm to learn and grow. You thrive in a team environment, build trust through integrity, and bring energy and resilience to every challenge.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • A degree or higher technical qualification in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and understanding of inter-related disciplines
  • Proven experience delivering electrical designs for clean water or waste water projects
  • Demonstrable experience with instrumentation and control systems, including monitoring, telemetry, and automation solutions
  • Ability to produce and review engineering calculations, specifications, and technical schedules
  • Solid project engineering experience within utilities, infrastructure, or related industries
  • Proficiency with relevant engineering software and strong IT skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear documentation
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and a collaborative working style

It would also be beneficial to have:

  • Experience designing electrical systems in hazardous areas
  • Familiarity with supplier engagement, technical bid analysis, and procurement processes
  • Previous involvement in delivering multidisciplinary infrastructure projects
