This role does work shift patterns, with longer days during the spring/summer months and shorter days over the autumn and winter months

We're looking for an exceptional Head Ranger to take the lead at Grafham Water Park, one of the regions premier outdoor recreation destinations and home to an internationally recognised trout and predator fishery.
As Head Ranger, you'll be at the heart of the park's operation, leading a dedicated team of Rangers, shaping the visitor experience, and helping to protect and enhance this stunning environment, its facilities and internationally renowned fishery for generations to come.
What You'll Be Doing
- Confidently leading a professional team of Rangers over a 7 day a week operation.
- Managing a renowned fishery, including fish stocking, boat fleet management, catch analysis, competitions, and promotion.
- You will be the point of contact for fishing clubs and match organisers.
- Inspiring and coaching a team of Rangers, volunteers and fishery bailiffs. Managing workload, task allocation and safety standards in line with our safety systems.
- Contributing to the delivery of exciting events and presentation standards that attract visitors and grow the park's reputation.
- Maintaining high-quality facilities, landscapes and infrastructure.
- Driving exceptional customer service and ensuring the highest health and safety standards.
- Managing budgets and improvement schemes that make a visible difference.
- Utilising, maintaining and monitoring the performance of infrastructure such as car park management systems, booking systems and safety reporting systems.
- You will be a strong communicator including communicating with stakeholders, visitors and wider team members.
What We're Looking For
You'll bring experience and qualifications in countryside management skills, practical facilities management in addition to knowledge of rural leisure, and/or fisheries management. Most importantly you will lead from the front with a can do, practical approach and a passion for delivering the very best experience to our visitors.
This position involves working weekends and evenings on a rota basis. Basic knowledge and ability to use Microsoft applications is required in addition to a full driving licence.
