Job Overview

We are looking for a highly organised and customer-focused IMA Metering Scheduler to join our Operational Management Centre (OMC). This role is critical in planning and managing future work schedules for our metering operatives, ensuring we meet customer expectations, maximise productivity, and achieve key performance targets including CMeX and RMeX.

You will work closely with in-day schedulers, delivery coordinators, and field resources to ensure effective scheduling, right-first-time delivery, and a seamless customer experience. You’ll also use systems such as SAP and Oracle to produce accurate schedules, monitor work status, and support operational efficiency.

This is a key role within the IMA OMC team and essential to the success of our metering operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule metering work to meet business performance targets while delivering excellent customer service.

• Ensure metering operatives are fully utilised, dependencies are understood, and work is planned within levels of service.

• Support the successful delivery of CMeX and RMeX by aligning scheduling activity with customer and operational expectations.

• Manage future work schedules and resolve jobs that cannot be automatically scheduled.

• Maintain clear, accurate system updates in SAP and Oracle, ensuring all necessary text and information is recorded.

• Liaise with delivery coordinators, customers, and field resources to ensure work can be carried out as planned.

• Apply, manage, and monitor permits, utility drawings, Traffic Management requirements, and third-party enquiries including Cadent and Network Rail.

• Review schedules daily and adjust for training, leave, unavailability, or unforeseen changes.

• Manage OOH jobs, appointment booking, plumber assist filters, and on-call rotas where required.

• Support rework reduction by ensuring issues are actioned immediately with minimal customer impact.

• Monitor mailbox activity, respond to customer scheduling queries, and support proactive identification of duplicate or abortive work.

• Assist with contingency procedures during incidents or system outages, ensuring accurate reporting and recovery.

Skills and Qualifications

• Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent.

• Experience in an operational, scheduling, or customer-facing environment.

• Strong awareness of IMA processes and operational metering activities.

• Excellent knowledge of SAP and Oracle systems.

• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to make sound decisions in a high-pressure, fast-moving environment.

• Excellent IT skills with the ability to prioritise and manage changing workloads.

• A positive, flexible, team-focused approach with exceptional customer service skills.
