What you'll be doing

We’re looking for a Flammable Gas Manager to lead the safe, compliant and effective management of flammable gas systems across our Water Recycling business.

This is a critical role in ensuring the safe operation of key assets across our Water Recycling sites, helping to protect our people, communities and environment.

This is a critical technical leadership role with company-wide responsibility for Anglian Water’s flammable gas (predominately focused on Biogas) systems and installations, ensuring policies, standards and safe systems of work are delivered across sites.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring compliance with gas and health and safety legislation, particularly the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998.

Working closely with operational teams, supply chain partners, safety specialists, regulators and external suppliers, you’ll provide expert advice on existing and future gas installations.

You’ll oversee maintenance, inspection, testing and audit regimes across a diverse portfolio of assets.

This role also acts as Anglian Water’s representative for Gas Safe compliance.

You’ll act as the lead point of contact for gas-related incidents and investigations, including engagement with external regulators such as the Health and Safety Executive.

This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of gas safety and influence operational best practice across the business.

What does it take to be successful?

A proactive, safety-first approach with a focus on continuous improvement alongside:

Strong technical knowledge of flammable gas systems (such as biogas, LPG or natural gas)

A solid understanding of relevant legislation, particularly Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998

Experience operating within safety-critical or highly regulated environments

The ability to collaborate and influence across operational teams, partners and external stakeholders

Experience supporting or leading incident investigation and assurance activities

Above all, you’ll be passionate about keeping people safe and helping to shape the future of gas safety across our Water Recycling business.
