We’re looking for practical problem-solvers and team players who want to make a real difference. In this role, you’ll help to maintain the equipment that supports accurate water use, improves efficiency, and protects our environment for future generations. No two days are the same — from diagnosing faults to delivering hands-on solutions in the field, you’ll be part of a team that keeps our water recycling operations running smoothly.

If you enjoy being part of a supportive team that takes pride in doing meaningful work, this could be the opportunity for you. At Anglian Water, you won’t just build a career — you’ll help safeguard one of our most precious resources.

What you will be doing as our Cost Analyst

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Analyst (C55) to join our IMR Water Recycling alliance team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring financial transparency, cost control, and value optimisation across metering repair activities, supporting both operational performance and strategic decision-making.

Working closely with operational teams and alliance partners, you will provide insight into cost performance, identify efficiencies, and help drive continuous improvement. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives on data analysis and enjoys influencing outcomes in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and monitor costs associated with maintenance repair activities across alliance partners

  • Produce regular financial and performance reports, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost planning processes within the Water Recycling function

  • Work collaboratively with operational teams to identify and deliver cost efficiencies

  • Validate and challenge financial data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial performance and reporting

Key Skills & Behaviours

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis and reporting

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present insights to non-financial stakeholders

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial or data analysis tools

  • Collaborative mindset with the confidence to challenge and influence decisions

  • Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

As a valued employee, you’ll be entitled to:

  • Personal private health care

  • 25 days annual leave – rising with length of service

  • Flexible working

  • Competitive pension scheme – Anglian Water double-matches your contributions up to 6%

  • Bonus scheme

  • Flexible benefits to support your wellbeing and lifestyle.

Inclusion at Anglian Water:

Inclusion is for everyone and we are an equal opportunity employer, which means we’ll consider all suitably qualified applicants regardless of gender identity or expression, ethnic origin, nationality, religion or beliefs, age, sexual orientation, disability status or any other protected characteristic. We recruit and develop our people based on merit and their passion for creating better outcomes, and we’re committed to creating an environment where all our colleagues feel they belong.

Please Note

This opportunity is open to all internal candidates. However, in accordance with our redeployment process, priority will be given to colleagues whose roles are directly impacted and are at risk of redundancy. Applications from those not at risk of redundancy will only be considered if no suitable candidates from the affected group are successful.
