
Job Description
This role is Hybrid, with 1 day a week required in our Cardiff Office. We would be open to Part Time or Compressed Hours for this role.
The role is responsible for shaping and delivering change audit across the Group, but with a significant input into the technology audit planning too.
A significant hire for the function, the purpose of the role is to elevate capability in relation to Change & Technology, whilst continuing to align the function to the Group Strategy – compounding growth whilst delivering technology-driven outcomes (e.g. AI, data-led & customer centric).
There will be an opportunity to develop change assurance approaches and apply previous experience to the third line. This will be underpinned by a data-enabled audit approach. Furthermore, the role will take responsibility for elevating the expertise of the wider internal audit level in respect to auditing change assurance. This includes providing training on new audit technologies, mentoring team members on best practices, and leading initiatives to assess and improve control environments across the business. This is within the context of a Group-wide perspective across our UK and international operations, so some travel to international entities may be required.
The role also provides leadership support by offering guidance on emerging and ongoing risks, and by continually assessing the wider audit landscape within Technology and Change. There is an expectation that the role will also assist to drive technology and AI usage in the function.
Stakeholder management is critical, with this role offering interaction with senior managers at the top of the Group. The role requires proactive engagement on an on-going basis, essentially getting “under the skin” of the key change programmes that are on-going and being initiated.
Key Responsibilities:
- To drive high-quality activity and challenge assurance outcomes across Technology & Change audits
- Support the delivery of the Audit plan, with a Change & Technology focus including delivery and input into targeted areas.
- Responsibility for the oversight and management of Change (and some Technology) Audits across respective geographical entities.
- Coordinate with Key Stakeholders and Management for all Change Assurance, including where Audits cross into Technology space between entities.
- Undertake key stakeholder meetings and understand the Technology & Change Strategy and risk landscape.
- Attending (observing) key meetings across the Group associated with Technology & Change; this may involve some Steering Committee attendance.
- Leverage first and second line tech, change and data insights to inform audit planning and coverage.
- Provide clear, concise reporting that connects control gaps to business impact and root causes.
- Manage co-source providers/contractors, ensuring value-for-money and consistent quality.
- Support recruitment and capability development for technology and change skills within the function.
- Keep ahead of emerging risks (e.g., AI adoption, change techniques, cloud security posture, API risk, platform resilience, data privacy changes).
- Support the enhancement of the function’[s data analytics and technology audit capability.
- Support the leadership in the development of the Annual Audit plan, particularly from a change perspective.

- Strong change experience and current technology knowledge, underpinned with excellent technical audit skills.

- Professional Scepticism: apply curiosity and professional scepticism when planning and performing audit services.
- Experience and/or understanding in Change and Transformation, Technology Risk, IT Assurance, Cyber, or Technology Controls within a regulated or complex environment.
- Strong knowledge of technology control domains including ITGCs, IAM, cyber security fundamentals, change management and operational resilience.
- Proven practical experience/background in Technology and/or data delivery which support a wide technical understanding of technology interactions.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Previous experience within the Insurance Sector
