About the role
As a Financial Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Financial Controller by handling a variety of administrative and coordinative tasks. Your responsibilities will include preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, managing tax payments, and organizing internal audits. You will ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations, contributing significantly to our financial operations and decision-making process.
You will also take ownership of tracking project progress, providing client and internal reports, managing risks and issues, and guiding the project to successful delivery.
The office in Istanbul is a vibrant and welcoming space designed for collaboration and creativity. We have a team working Hybrid (3 days in the office), this is a diverse and talented team that prides themselves on its warm and welcoming culture.


What you'll be doing

    Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Processing accounts payable and travel expenses independently and on your own responsibility.
  • Handling payment transactions and SEPA direct debits and managing bank accounts.
  • Reconciling the accounts, asset accounting, and expense and balance sheet accounts on an ongoing basis.
  • Supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Owning auditing for brand
  • Preparing and being responsible for the submission of VAT returns in collaboration with the tax advisor.
  • Monitoring, error analysis and error correction in financial accounting, as well as supporting the further development and optimisation of financial accounting processes.
  • Supporting our Financial Controller with administrative and coordinative activities.

What we're looking for

  • Completed a commercial apprenticeship as a financial accountant, with further training as an accountant
  • Relevant professional experience in a comparable position.
  • Knowledge of Turkish accounting rules and ideally also of IFRS/US-GAAP, preferably with
  • experience in an international company.
  • Affinity for IT and are process-orientated.
  • Practical knowledge of common ERP systems (preferably NetSuite).
  • Communication and open-mindedness are part of your DNA. You will fit in with us if you like to initiate and drive topics and at the same time appreciate teamwork.
  • Written and verbal communication skills in Turkish and English.
