As a Senior Front End Engineer on our Structured Credit team, you will support the development of our market leading CLO product & support the launch of a new vertical.


The team maintain a strong focus on impact, using technology to deliver value for the business. While we have a high-level vision from the business, we have autonomy to set our team goals and define our own success. We take responsibility for our outcomes and emphasize proactive behaviours like ownership and accountability

Every day is different, but here’s an example of the kind of things you’ll work on day to day:

  • Work cross-functionally with designers, product owners, and internal stakeholders in finance and legal

  • Collaborate within a team of frontend and backend specialists

  • Use data-driven approaches combined with specialist input

  • Create intuitive frontend interfaces that are easy for finance and legal professionals to use

  • Address technical debt that brings value to the team and business

  • Get to know the business and users so you can help the team become the best in the structured credit space

About You

  • Experienced with React, modern ES6 and TypeScript to build web applications to own your code through code review to full release in collaboration with the team. Also some understanding of the backend, or open to learning more full stack skills in the future.

  • A strong communicator, who can present to team members and stakeholders (technical and non-technical) how you & your team’s ideas will improve our user’s experience on the platform as well as the wider technical advantages and trade-offs of your solution.

  • Collaborates well with business colleagues, other engineers, UX Designers and Product managers to collectively lead product innovation achieved via fast delivery and frequent feedback iterations.

  • Grows the skills and experience of others in the team in collaboration with our engineering managers using your technical knowledge, experience and team work.

  • Proactively identifies tech debt and developer experience improvements and champions technical improvements and initiatives within your team and across multiple teams with the guilds.

  • Can effectively advocate for software development best practices, including documentation, testing, code readability, and efficiency, in order to positively influence team outcomes and promote a culture of excellence within the development process.

  • Capable of evaluating new technologies by presenting proof-of-concepts that highlight their advantages and disadvantages and how they can be applied in a real world scenario at 9fin.

  • Strives to help the team achieve its goals - giving input in different situations ranging from reviewing project success metrics to feeding back on team ways of working.
