  • Act as the primary contact for external developers and internal stakeholders

  • Coordinate input from subject matter experts across the business to mitigate risks and realise opportunities

  • Maintain up-to-date intelligence on external infrastructure projects to inform long-term planning

  • Represent Anglian Water at examinations, enquiries, and relevant industry forums

  • Build strong relationships with internal teams including Strategic Asset Planning

  • Support the wider Developer Services team with planning insight and expertise

What does it take to be a Spatial and Strategic Planning Lead?

  • Postgraduate planning qualifications and/or Chartered Member/Associate of the Royal Town Planning Institute (essential)

  • Proven experience in town and country planning, particularly development management

  • Experience in planning policy and influencing development through the planning process

  • Strong advocacy, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and think strategically

  • Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and presentation

As a valued employee, you’ll be entitled to:

  • Double Matched Pension Scheme – matches your contributions up to 6% (up to 18% combined)

  • Costs covered for one Professional Membership

  • 26 Days Annual Leave

  • Personal private health care

  • Annual bonus scheme

  • Opportunity to volunteer and do unpaid work in the community

  • Life Cover at 8x your salary

  • Personal Accident cover – up to 5x your salary

  • Flexible benefits to support your wellbeing and lifestyle

  • Free parking at all offices, sites, and leisure parks

We’re a purpose-led organisation committed to sustainability, innovation, and delivering long-term value for our customers and communities. As Spatial and Strategic Planning Lead, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our infrastructure planning is future-ready, collaborative, and strategically aligned.
