Job Description

Location: The Speechmark, London + Hybrid
Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits
Working hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday

Hybrid

We believe that through collaboration and connection with our colleagues we can achieve great things. Our hybrid working approach allows our people to work both in the office and at home, providing the flexibility and resources you need to succeed in your role. We don't require you to be in on specific days; instead, we ask people to come into the office 2-3 days each week, for at least 8 days per month. You should work with your line manager to understand what their expectations are for you, your specific role and your team.

Who We Are

We’re here to build a network the UK can count on – one that connects people, places and potential. Because no matter where you live, what your background is, or how you get online – we think everyone deserves the same chance to stay connected, and with VodafoneThree, that future’s being built – today.

We’re creating more than the UK’s best network. We’re helping close the digital divide, empower communities and drive meaningful progress.

We believe that everyone should feel they belong. Whoever you are and whatever your story, there’s space for you here. We’re building a workplace where different perspectives are welcomed, voices are heard, and everyone feels safe to show up as themselves.

You’ll join a team that genuinely cares – about each other, about our customers, and about the future we’re building. From day one, you’ll be welcomed, valued and encouraged to bring your whole self to work.

Why VodafoneThree

Join us and you’ll be at the heart of change. That means building responsibly, investing sustainably and creating opportunities that last.

We’re not just expanding connectivity; we’re reimagining what a connected nation looks like. With £11bn invested in 5G and digital infrastructure, your work will directly power businesses, services, and communities across the country.

You’ll work on real challenges, with real impact, across every corner of the country. Wherever you join us, whatever your role, you’ll be helping to build a future that works better for everyone.

We move at pace, because what we’re building matters – and we’re learning as we go. We’re proud of the progress we’ve made, but we’re just getting started.

Join us at the heart of our business in Corporate, one of the central support functions that underpin our business and keep us moving forward. We provide centralised support, expertise and guidance across our UK and Group operations, continuing to build on our success and trailblazing the way to our next stage of digital growth.

What you’ll do

As a Legal Counsel within our Business Deals Legal team, you’ll play an important role in supporting Vodafone Business across a wide range of commercial opportunities. You’ll help navigate complex legal and regulatory matters, contribute to strategic business decisions, and work alongside talented colleagues from across the organisation. If you're excited by combining legal expertise with commercial thinking, relationship building, and continuous improvement, this role will offer the opportunity to grow your impact while developing your career in a supportive and collaborative environment.

In this role, you'll help enable Vodafone Business to achieve its commercial ambitions by delivering practical, high-quality legal support across a broad range of business activities. Working closely with colleagues across legal, commercial, finance, security, compliance, technical, product, and regulatory teams, you'll provide trusted advice that helps drive informed decision-making while managing legal and regulatory risk.

You will:

  • Support the negotiation, drafting, and review of contracts, bids, tenders, and commercial agreements across Vodafone Business sales segments, including Key Accounts, Public Sector, Private Sector, Business Markets, Security Enhanced, and Indirect channels.
  • Deliver pragmatic, solution-focused legal advice that balances commercial opportunity with appropriate risk management.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure legal guidance is aligned with business priorities and delivered in a timely, commercially focused manner.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and help achieve wider organisational goals.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks while promoting robust governance and compliance practices.
  • Support the implementation of assurance frameworks that help protect the business from financial, reputational, and regulatory risk.
  • Contribute to legal training, guidance, and knowledge-sharing activities across the business.
  • Help improve legal processes by encouraging simplification, automation, scalability, and self-service solutions that enhance efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with external stakeholders, including customers, external counsel, strategic partners, and group functions.
  • Monitor emerging legal, regulatory, and industry developments, sharing insights and recommendations that positively influence business outcomes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute ideas that strengthen legal service delivery across VodafoneThree.
  • Champion a culture of collaboration, inclusion, accountability, and professional excellence within the legal team and beyond.

Who you are

  • You have experience working within an in-house legal team or private practice environment.
  • You have an understanding of the technology and telecommunications sectors, or you're eager to build your expertise in these fast-moving industries.
  • You take ownership of your work, managing tasks and legal matters effectively while knowing when to seek guidance and support.
  • You demonstrate initiative, curiosity, and a proactive approach to solving challenges and progressing work.
  • You can identify and manage legal risks while balancing practical business needs and commercial objectives.
  • You have strong analytical skills and can translate complex legal issues into clear, actionable advice.
  • You communicate confidently and adapt your style to engage and influence a wide range of audiences.
  • You build credible, trusted relationships that encourage collaboration and drive positive outcomes.
  • You have sound commercial awareness or the potential to develop strong commercial judgement.
  • You enjoy working collaboratively and value diverse perspectives, experiences, and ideas.
  • You are committed to continuous learning and actively seek opportunities to expand your knowledge and capabilities.
  • You welcome feedback, embrace development opportunities, and take ownership of your professional growth.
  • You are motivated by working in an environment where you can contribute to meaningful change and long-term success.
  • You are a supportive team player who shares knowledge, encourages others, and contributes positively to team goals and culture.
