About this Role

We are seeking a Unix & SQL Production Support Analyst with strong technical expertise in Unix, Shell scripting, and Oracle PL/SQL. The role involves supporting production environments, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring smooth operations for data migration and ETL processes. The individual will work in a 24/7 environment with rotational shifts, managing incidents, change requests, and ensuring compliance with SLAs and ITIL processes.

What you’ll do

  • Participate in design and architecture for development projects in Unix and SQL.
  • Deliver responsibilities from requirements capture to high-level and low-level design, including performance tuning.
  • Write, debug, and fine-tune queries and Unix shell scripts.
  • Execute scripts and SQL queries, manage sandboxes, and perform version and access management.
  • Triage and participate in root cause analysis of data migration issues and implement code fixes.
  • Identify bottlenecks and optimise migration processes.
  • Monitor production environments, perform health checks, and ensure defect-free deliverables.
  • Escalate or interact with relevant teams for resolution of service requests.
  • Support SLA fulfilment and compliance with standard processes and practices.

Who you are

  • 2–3 years of experience in Unix and SQL production support projects.
  • Strong conceptual and practical knowledge of Unix, Shell scripting, and Oracle PL/SQL syntax.
  • Familiarity with data warehouse concepts and ETL features such as high performance and parallelism.
  • Knowledge of ticketing tools (e.g., Remedy) and ITIL processes for incident and change management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work in a diverse and sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise effectively, and deliver results under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Flexible to work in 24/7 rotational shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
