What you’ll do

• Manage daily backup operations (monitoring success/failure status, reporting, and timely troubleshooting).
• Provide support for the design, implementation, and configuration of backup solutions for existing and new projects.
• Perform expert-level installation, administration, and optimization of leading backup software, including Veritas NetBackup, Cohesity, and Veeam.
• Effectively manage the efficiency and capacity of backup storage units (STUs) such as Dell EMC Data Domain, HPE StoreOnce, and Veritas Flex Appliance.
• Develop and execute Disaster Recovery (DR) test scenarios and maintain comprehensive documentation for these processes.
• Actively participate in performance improvement, capacity planning, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to analyze the impact of infrastructure changes on backup procedures.Perform troubleshooting, incident and error handling for systems
• Design, develop and implement the code to automate processes
• Analyse new/upcoming technologies and to evaluate their impacts on current systems/environment
• Provide assistance in new projects during all stages : assessment, planning, designing, initiation, implementation of the Backup infrastructure
• Configuration and capacity management of Backup infrastructure
• Quality assurance of new and existing Backup systems
• Lifecycle management of all Backup Environment
• Evaluation of tools and applications to manage/monitor Backup infrastructure
• Running analytical troubleshooting techniques on the systems/modules that malfunctioned
• Relationship building with the business through consultancy
• Defining and implementing continuity solutions for each platform (e.g. Backup based availability and disaster recovery solutions )
• Maintain operational readiness ensuring complete recovery in the event of a disaster. Attend DR tests regularly, as outlined in the company policies and procedures to ensure DR functionality. Update the policies and procedures as required.
• Operational support of all Backup infrastructure on 7*24 basis to provide continuous IT services availability and issue resolution.
• Periodic monitoring and performance tuning of the systems

Who you are

• University degree from a relevant discipline, preferably from engineering
• 5+ years experience working with enterprise Backup systems
• 2+ years developing automation solutions.
• Able to execute scripts in; YAML,Python, Shell, Perl, XML and JavaScripts.
• Advanced administration and troubleshooting experience in at least two of the following solutions:
* Veritas NetBackup (especially versions 8.x and higher)
* Cohesity or Veeam Backup & Replication
• Proven knowledge and experience with deduplication-based storage systems, such as Dell EMC Data Domain and/or HPE StoreOnce.
• Familiarity with integrated backup infrastructures, such as Veritas Flex Appliance, is a strong asset.
• Knowledge of backup procedures for virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V), Databases (Oracle RMAN, SQL, Postgre, Mongo etc.) and cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
• Scripting proficiency (PowerShell, Python, Shell, etc.) is expected to enhance problem-solving efficiency.Experience in Unix systems, fiesystem structure and shell scripting
• Netbackup, Cohesity certification is preferred
• Familiarity with 24X7 operations methodologies and IT management best practices
• Fluency in English
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Good communication, documentation and reporting skills
• Should be a good team player and should be able perform well under stress
