About this Role

We are seeking a skilled Full Stack Software Developer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot microservices, React.js, Next.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript to design, build, and support scalable digital solutions. The role offers the opportunity to contribute across the full software development lifecycle, collaborate with cross-functional teams, influence architectural decisions, and support the development of high-quality end-to-end applications. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to mentor colleagues and contribute to engineering best practices.

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Java and Spring Boot microservices.
  • Define, implement, and evolve microservice architectures and RESTful APIs.
  • Ensure code quality through testing, peer reviews, and adherence to engineering standards.
  • Drive effective integration between backend services and React-based user interfaces.
  • Contribute across planning, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support activities.
  • Support containerisation initiatives using Docker and contribute to CI/CD automation practices.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, engineering teams, and other stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and help advance shared engineering standards across the team.

Who you are

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 4–6 years of experience delivering enterprise IT projects.
  • Strong full stack development experience using Java, Spring Boot microservices, React.js, Next.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Proven experience designing scalable microservices, REST and GraphQL APIs, and distributed systems.
  • Strong understanding of modern frontend engineering, component-based architectures, performance optimisation, and user interface best practices.
  • Experience integrating frontend applications with backend services and defining scalable API contracts.
  • Good knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, caching approaches, and data modelling techniques.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices, including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GoCD.
  • Strong experience with Git-based workflows, collaborative development practices, and code reviews.
  • Ability to take technical ownership, contribute to architectural decisions, and support the growth of other engineers.
  • Awareness of Docker and related containerisation technologies; knowledge of Kubernetes would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders in cross-functional environments.
  • A continuous learning mindset with an interest in emerging technologies, automation, and process improvement.
