Role Purpose/Business Unit:

To perform operational functions related to faults and configurations across systems and applications under the responsibility of Core Data Networks

Your responsibilities will include:

Support

  • Responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Unix/Linux systems.
  • Monitor the performance of the systems and applications.
  • Attend to faults and incidents related to systems and applications.
  • Evaluate and implement system OS software releases for systems.
  • Engage with engineering, regional operations and ASOC teams to understand and address network concerns.

Planning

  • Engage with engineering and regional operations teams to define service requirements
  • Evaluate system architecture and recommend system improvements
  • Compile detailed system design and implementation plans
  • Compile and keep site documentation up to date.
  • Audit the site configurations and ensure alignment to architecture standards

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP Operations
  • Knowledge of DNS Operations
  • Knowledge of Linux principles and operations
  • Knowledge of IP networking technologies.
  • Network Security Protocols and Services
  • Ability to build CI/CD pipelines

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree or 3-year diploma in Information Technology or Electrical Engineering
  • 3 years technical experience
