Role Purpose/Business Unit:

Execute lease and electricity payments, ensuring accurate accounting and vendor onboarding. Focus on financial analysis, cost optimization, budgeting, and forecasting. Perform data analysis and reporting using tools like SQL, Excel, and PowerBI. Oversee vendor contracts and drive process improvements through digital transformation.

Your responsibilities will include:

Lease and Electricity Management

  • Facilitate payment of rental and electricity in conjunction with Finops Shared Services
  • Prepare and manage accrual accounting of BTS leases as well as electricity provisions
  • Onboard new vendors/landlord on Supplier Onboarding Portal based on specific documentation requirements
  • Create, modify and/or terminate vendor/landlord and lease related details on relevant systems, platforms and tools
  • Prepare checklist related to leases in accordance with best practice, IFRS16 and Vodacom specific requirements
  • Manage the BTS electricity provisions and payment for leased TowerCo sites, Rooftop sites, DAS sites etc.


Financial Analysis and Cost Optimisation

  • Implement cost measures in the property portfolio to avoid back-billing claims, budget overspend from various landlords (i.e. TowerCos, MNOs, Private)
  • Prepare financial cost models to guide and drive cost optimisation initiatives across the entire portfolio
  • Perform various financial analysis (i.e. Cash Flow Forecasting and Analysis) of leases, rental and electricity portfolios


Budgeting, Cashflow and Forecasting

  • Prepare cash flow and forecast report pertaining to leases and electricity
  • Prepare Opex budget and forecasting pertaining to leases and electricity as part of LRP in conjunction with FBP and FinOps

Data Analysis, Database Management and Reporting

  • Perform and data analysis and interactive dashboard across the entire property portfolio using different tools SQL, Excel, PowerBI to give insights to Senior Management
  • Build one-stop shop database of sites, leases, electricity account with touchpoint from various technical systems
  • Develop Site lease rental benchmark across various portfolios and regions and provide quantitative analysis to guide commercial negotiations
  • Prepare and produce high quality reports tailored for Executive and Management


Vendor Contract Management and Programme Management

  • Govern, lead and guide the Lease Management vendors through structured governance review sessions, service delivery performance metrics and periodic management reporting
  • Perform periodic performance reviews of the appointed vendors through various measures i.e. non-performance penalties
  • Process payment for the vendors based on service rendered and in line with SCM procedures
  • Develop a lease renewal programme to address expired leases, future expiries to avoid potential accrual and budget overspend
  • Formulate best case and timebound actionable plan to address key opportunities (i.e. accrual reduction, back-billing avoidance, expired leases)


Process Improvement and Digital Transformation

  • Transform the digital management of leases, rentals and electricity to reduce the manual tasks through automation
  • Identify inefficiencies and gaps in the existing Lease and Electricity Management process and develop a robust process improvement plan

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Degree/Diploma in Accounting / Finance/Real Estate
  • 5 – 8 years relevant experience
  • 5 years of working experience in a Financial and Contract administration environment (essential).
  • Legal-related tertiary qualification (advantageous)
