As a Responsible AI, Security and Privacy Transformation Senior Manager, you will lead the Transformation Program across the directorate, including areas like Responsible AI, Security or Privacy by Design, with strong focus on the first 2 years in the Responsible AI Program The program is a large, complex transformation that will ensure the development of safe, trustworthy, compliant and ethical AI systems at Vodafone, while enabling innovation at scale.

You will lead a cross-functional team which delivers transformation initiatives and task forces, including AI Acceleration, Secure by Design Next Gen, Go Faster and other initiatives to come. You will ensure strong delivery focus, governance through controls, tooling, processes and operating models. You will work with various business units, such as Technology, Cyber Security, Legal, Privacy or Supply Chain Management, and local markets to implement the different projects.

What you’ll do

  • Define and evolve the enterprise-wide Responsible AI strategy and programme aligned with legal obligations (e.g., EU AI Act, GDPR), including scope, roadmap, milestones, budgets and executive reporting.
  • Translate Responsible AI principles into actionable policies and technical standards and requirements.
  • Lead the design and evolution of a scalable AI governance framework, that is adaptable for local markets, business units and risk profiles.
  • Lead workstreams that embed Responsible AI controls, such as fairness, transparency, human oversight, safety and privacy into AI lifecycle stages (Governance by Design).
  • Create and maintain global AI governance processes, procedures or guidelines for the development and use of AI systems and products.
  • Define and implement AI assurance practices, including testing, validation and monitoring.
  • Oversee and implement requirements for third-party/vendor AI assurance and validation processes.
  • Act as senior subject matter expert on Responsible AI and provide advice on requirements, educate and influence senior leadership on risks, trade-offs and regulatory obligations.
  • Drive AI literacy, training programmes and cultural adoption of Responsible AI practices.
  • Address interventions in the AI Acceleration task force to ensure AI use cases are delivered at pace.
  • Lead the necessary tasks and changes to transform our Secure By Design processes and the tooling that supports it.

Who you are

  • Bachelor/Masters Degree;
  • Experience in technology, risk management or governance roles, with at least 5 years of experience in a senior AI governance, Responsible AI or risk leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading large, enterprise-wide transformation programmes in a regulated industry
  • Strategic thinking with operational execution capability
  • Deep expertise in Responsible AI, including in-depth understanding of regulatory requirements such as the EU AI Act, GDPR, ISO/IEC 42001, NIST RMF.
  • Strong foundational understanding of the AI/ML lifecycle, including GenAI, agentic AI, model governance
  • Excellent team management skills, ability to provide strategic direction, delegate tasks and ownership, ability to motivate and empower a team, and to provide strong support
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders across the business; strong stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in a regulated industry (telecoms, finance, healthcare)
  • Ability to operate under ambiguity and organisational complexity
  • Pragmatic, solutions-oriented mindset (e.g., balancing risks and innovation);
  • High resilience in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment;
  • Fluency in English.
