Job Description

Join Us

At Vodafone, we’re not just shaping the future of connectivity for our customers – we’re shaping the future for everyone who joins our team. When you work with us, you’re part of a global mission to connect people, solve complex challenges, and create a sustainable and more inclusive world. If you want to grow your career whilst finding the perfect balance between work and life, Vodafone offers the opportunities to help you belong and make a real impact.

What you’ll do

The SUJ Programme Coordination Lead plays a central role in the strategic coordination, governance and operational excellence of the Skills Upload Jr (SUJ) programme across Europe. The role acts as a key integrator between strategy and execution, ensuring that the programme is delivered coherently at scale, with strong governance, financial discipline, risk management and continuous improvement.

Operating with a high degree of autonomy and judgement, the role provides strategic support to the Head of European Digital Wellbeing Programmes, works in close partnership with local programme leads, and leads the coordination of centrally managed initiatives, partners and resources. The position is instrumental in strengthening the programme’s impact, efficiency, positioning and sustainability, while balancing global ambition with local realities.

The role also acts as a steward of the SUJ community, enabling collaboration across markets, driving alignment on priorities and ways of working, and fostering a culture of shared learning, accountability and innovation.

Who you are

Key activities include:

  1. Programme governance and leadership
  • Lead and continuously evolve the SUJ governance model at European level, ensuring clarity of roles, decision rights, escalation pathways and accountability across markets and centrally led initiatives.
  • Prepare and coordinate governance meetings, decision materials and escalations to senior stakeholders, including the Head of European Programmes, the Foundation leadership team and the Board of Trustees.
  • Ensure that governance decisions are translated into clear actions and embedded consistently in programme delivery.
  1. Budget management and financial oversight (central & European)
  • Hold delegated responsibility for the central and European‑level SUJ programme budget, operating in a matrix with local markets.
  • Consolidate local budgets, ensuring alignment with programme priorities, grant agreements and participation criteria.
  • Oversee centrally managed programme costs (partners, suppliers, tools), track financial performance, and support investment trade‑offs and efficiency decisions.
  • Provide structured insight to support planning, scaling decisions and long‑term sustainability of the programme.
  1. Strategic planning and programme management
  • Lead the consolidation of annual and multi‑year programme plans across markets, balancing global priorities with local needs and delivery capacity.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the Head of European Digital Wellbeing Programmes, providing analysis, options and recommendations to strengthen programme focus, sequencing and impact.
  • Support local programme leads with structured guidance on planning, prioritisation and execution.
  1. Risk management and compliance
  • Own the SUJ programme risk framework at European level, proactively identifying strategic, operational, reputational and delivery risks.
  • Define and monitor mitigation actions, ensuring timely escalation and informed decision‑making at senior level.
  • Ensure consistent application of safeguarding, data protection, quality and compliance frameworks across markets, maintaining audit‑ready documentation, in coordination with compliance and legal teams.

What's in it for you

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

  1. European programme governance ownership for SUJ, including decision preparation and escalation.
  2. Central and European budget oversight, including consolidation, tracking and optimisation.
  3. Programme‑level risk management, ensuring proactive identification and mitigation.
  4. Strategic coordination and planning across markets and centrally led initiatives.
  5. Operational efficiency and continuous improvement of the SUJ delivery model.
  6. Performance data & reporting preparation

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

  • Programme management at scale, across multiple countries (inc. Turkey, Romania, Albania, Portugal. Germany, Greece, UK), stakeholders and delivery models.
  • Strategic planning and financial acumen, including budget oversight and trade‑off analysis.
  • Education/digital wellbeing literacy
  • Data & reporting literacy
  • Governance design and facilitation, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
  • Leadership without direct authority, influencing and aligning diverse teams.
  • Risk management and sound judgement in complex, ambiguous environments.
  • Change and innovation mindset, with ability to anticipate trends and drive improvement

Benefits

  • Hybrid work model
  • Bonus on top of the gross salary.
  • Meal voucher (Ticket Restaurant), additional to gross salary.
