Role Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Principal Scrum Master to join our Engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Agile principles and extensive experience working with Scrum teams to facilitate the efficient delivery of high-quality software products. As a Principal Scrum Master, you will be responsible for coaching, mentoring, and guiding multiple Scrum teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring adherence to Agile best practices.

What you’ll do:

Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives for multiple Scrum teams, ensuring that Agile processes are followed consistently and effectively.
Coach, mentor, and support Scrum team members, including Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and development teams, in understanding and applying Agile principle, Practices, and values.
Collaborate with Product Owners to ensure the development of well-defined, prioritized product backlogs, and assist with backlog refinement to ensure clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
Identify and remove impediments that hinder the progress of Scrum teams, working proactively to resolve issues and conflicts, and escalating when necessary to ensure timely resolution.
Track and report on team progress, performance, and metrics, ensuring transparency, and driving continuous improvement through data-driven decision making.
Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including product management, development, quality assurance, and operations, to ensure alignment and effective collaboration.
Foster a culture of collaboration, trust, and continuous improvement, and promote a shared understanding of Agile values and principles across the organization.
Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to other Scrum Masters, helping to develop their skills and knowledge in Agile practices.
Stay current with industry trends and best practices in Agile methodologies and contribute to the continuous improvement of the organisation's Agile practices.

Who you are:

Essential:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or relevant experience.
4+ years of experience working with Agile methodologies, including 3+ years as a Scrum Master for software development teams.
Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent).
Demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring, and guiding multiple Scrum teams.
Strong understanding of Agile principles, practices, and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe etc.).
Proven ability to facilitate team communication, resolve conflicts, and remove impediments.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Rally).
Desirable
Experience in a scaled Agile environment (SAFe, LeSS, or similar).
Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices, as well as experience working withdevelopment, quality assurance, and operations teams.
