Location: Ratingen

Role purpose:
This role requires comprehensive expertise in access and security technologies, Linux operating systems, as well as knowledge of interface technologies related to access and security services. Using the most advanced technical background platform control services and related technologies, the position ensures compliance of the business of Vodafone markets, using control applications to monitor, grant or revoke access to specific platforms.

The purpose of this role is to maintain high availability and reliability of application & infrastructure, support business continuity, which includes 24/7 on-call support, and contribute to continuous improvement.

The position ensures the integrity, security and scalability of user platform access control on critical systems (on-prem & cloud derivatives), safeguarding Vodafone`s operational continuity and compliance posture. The Platform Control Manager ensures compliance, operational resilience and seamless integration between business and technology domains.

What you will do


• Operate Security & Access Services platforms completely autonomously and with broad latitude in a complex and changing environment with frequent exposure to brand and revenue impacting incidents
• System Monitoring & Support: Monitor application and services to ensure up-time and performance; respond to alerts, incidents & service requests, in line with team/department service availability and KPI targets
• Maintenance Activities: Run scheduled maintenance, patching, and updates to ensure system security and compliance.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of incidents, changes, and configurations for audit and knowledge-sharing purposes.
• Collaboration: Work closely with operations, network, and application teams to support cross-functional initiatives.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and contribute to automation efforts.
• Operational Decisions: Make day-to-day decisions on routine support tasks, such as restarting services, applying minor fixes, and validating system health.
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure all actions comply with organizational security and operational standards.


What sets you apart

• Linux Administration: Proven hands-on Experience of Linux operating systems administration including file systems, permissions, and process management.
• Knowledge of access and security programs and services running within VCI
• Excellent understanding of ITIL &
GDPR and SOX
• Degree in IT (any) or 5 years of experience in enterprise IT, Cloud and UNIX environments
• Knowledge on Security & Access Services technologies and products
• Linux Administration: Proven hands-on Experience of Linux operating systems administration including file systems, permissions, and process management.
• Networking Fundamentals: Familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, and basic network troubleshooting.
• Monitoring Tools: Exposure to system monitoring tools and log analysis.
• Incident Management: Experience in handling support tickets and following escalation procedures.
• Security Practices: Knowledge of system hardening, patching, and compliance standards.
• Fluency in English in speaking, reading, writing
