What you’ll do

Role purpose:

The NMS Analyst supports the planning and operations of the Wireless (Radio and Core) Network Management Systems within Vodafone Egypt's network. The primary objective of this role is to monitor, support, upgrade, and contribute to the planning of these systems, while facilitating internal customers' tasks by making effective use of system capabilities. The role handles operational cases with vendors and works alongside senior engineers to ensure NMS availability, security, and performance, contributing to service quality and operational excellence across the network.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership

  • Support the planning, development, design, and daily operations of Network Management Systems and Automation systems, including the application of security patches and system upgrades in line with defined roadmaps.
  • Implement required system changes following agreed processes and procedures, ensuring minimal impact on internal customers, and escalate issues to vendors according to contractual SLAs.
  • Ensure NMS nodes and platforms remain secured and regularly patched in compliance with Vodafone security policy and internal customer service requirements.
  • Apply and maintain user access control policies and procedures across all Network Management System nodes and solutions.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and tools to address business requirements, automate routine operational tasks, and improve NMS efficiency

Key performance indicators:

  • Compliance of NMS systems and nodes with the latest recommended security patches within defined timeframes.
  • Timely escalation and resolution of reported incidents in line with agreed SLAs.
  • Adherence to user access control processes and contribution to systems standardization and unification initiatives.

What's in it for you

Core competencies, knowledge and experience

  • Network Management Systems – Working knowledge of Wireless (Radio and Core) NMS platforms, including monitoring, fault management, performance management, and configuration management functions.
  • Operating Systems & Scripting – Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux administration and scripting (Bash, Python, or similar) to automate routine operational tasks and support NMS operations.
  • Database & SQL – Practical exposure to relational databases and SQL for querying, basic troubleshooting, and supporting NMS reporting and data extraction needs.
  • Security & Patch Management – Awareness of security patching practices, user access control principles, and compliance requirements applicable to network management platforms.
  • Communication & Teamwork – Effective interpersonal and communication skills, time management, customer focus, logical thinking, and the ability to take responsibility within a collaborative team environment.

Must have technical/ professional qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Technology, preferably in Network Management Systems or telecom operations.
  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux administration and scripting.
  • Practical exposure to Database concepts and SQL.
  • Awareness of telecom network elements (Radio and/or Core) and ITIL processes is preferred
