About this Role

We are seeking an experienced MicroStrategy Developer to join our IT function in India. This role focuses on designing, developing, and optimising enterprise business intelligence solutions using MicroStrategy, enabling data-driven decision-making through high-performance dashboards, reports, and analytics. The individual will work extensively with SQL and GCP BigQuery to manage large-scale data analysis and ensure robust BI solutions for Vodafone Italy’s Business Intelligence and Big Data team.

What you will do

• Design and deliver MicroStrategy reports, dashboards, and dossiers.
• Build and maintain the MicroStrategy semantic layer (facts, attributes, metrics, hierarchies).
• Develop complex metrics, prompts, and filters.
• Write, tune, and optimise advanced SQL queries.
• Optimise performance using aggregates, VLDB properties, and caching techniques.
• Work with GCP BigQuery for large-scale data analysis and query optimisation.
• Implement and manage row-level and object-level security.
• Collaborate with business, data engineering, and cloud teams.
• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure data accuracy and performance.
• Support MicroStrategy administration tasks including user and role management, object security, and access controls.
• Assist with deployment and migration of MicroStrategy objects across environments (Dev, QA, UAT, Prod) using packages.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers.

Who you are

• 6–10 years of hands-on MicroStrategy development experience.
• Strong expertise in MicroStrategy Developer, Workstation, and Library.
• Advanced SQL skills with experience handling large and complex datasets.
• Hands-on experience with GCP BigQuery.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modelling.
• Proven experience in performance tuning and optimisation.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related STEM field.
• Fluent in English (speaking and writing); Italian language skills preferred.
• Knowledge of Cloud Data Architecture for Data Warehousing and Agile methodology is an advantage.
