About this Role

We are seeking a Data Centre Network Operations Engineer to support Vodafone’s global data centre infrastructure and ensure the availability, stability, and performance of critical network services. Based in Pune, this role is responsible for 24x7 network operations, incident resolution, infrastructure maintenance, and proactive support across a complex data centre environment. The role offers the opportunity to work with advanced networking and security technologies while collaborating with global teams to minimise customer impact and drive operational excellence.

What you’ll do

  • Provide 24x7 network operations support, including on-call responsibilities, and take ownership of incidents raised by customers, monitoring systems, or support teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network incidents within agreed service levels to minimise business and customer impact.
  • Escalate issues to appropriate support teams, vendors, or technical specialists when required and coordinate resolution activities.
  • Participate in major incident management activities and provide timely updates to stakeholders throughout the incident lifecycle.
  • Support and maintain data centre network infrastructure, including planned maintenance, break-fix activities, and change implementation.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce recurring incidents and improve operational efficiency through process improvements and knowledge sharing.
  • Review, update, and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
  • Contribute to automation initiatives that improve operational performance and reduce manual effort.
  • Collaborate with geographically distributed teams to ensure effective service delivery and continuity.
  • Support technologies including routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers, data centre networking, and cloud environments.

Who you are

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting large-scale data centre network environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.Hands-on experience troubleshooting enterprise or carrier-grade routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Strong knowledge of Routing, Switching, Nexus/Data Centre technologies, Juniper or Cisco ASA Firewalls, Cisco ACI fundamentals, and F5 or Cisco ACE Load Balancers.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies such as Azure, GCP, OCI, AWS, NSX, or SD-WAN is desirable.
  • Understanding of Agile and DevOps principles is advantageous.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS, NSX, AWS, or equivalent are desirable.
  • Able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders in a fast-paced operational environment.
