Role Purpose

The DNS Infoblox Specialist - Senior Resource (L3) plays a critical role in managing and maintaining the Vodafone DNS infrastructure located in global VCI Data Centre Network Infrastructure and technologies across the Vodafone Data Centre footprint to ensure seamless network operations and high availability. Expertise in DNS, DHCP, and IPAM (IP Address Management) technologies, specifically within the Infoblox NIOS platform. This role is pivotal in troubleshooting complex DNS issues, implementing advanced configurations, and supporting Infoblox DDI solutions.

Role is part of an international team that provide 24/7 service coverage, keep up to date managed objects for best performance, monitor and implement customer requested solution. It is expected interaction with key network infrastructure vendors and customers.

Knowledge of the network infrastructure, network equipment and cloud and data center technologies is essential to properly manage the GDC networks and cloud solutions. Troubleshooting and network analysis capabilities are required for this role. Capability to proactively analyse the infrastructure in order to prevent problems that could reduce the network performance. Essential for the role are also soft skills as team player, basic understanding of project management and agile methodology, responsible attitude to actively drive activities to completion.

Key accountabilities and ownership

  • Operation 24x7 including on-call duty of all DNS Management
  • Provide to support our customers with DNS network analysis; pro-actively drive operations excellence by solving and preventing operational issues.
  • Oversee and manage Infoblox DNS operations, including zone transfers, record updates, and DNS security. Design, implement, and maintain DNS infrastructure using Infoblox NIOS.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of DNS configurations, policies, procedures, and incident resolutions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with network engineers, security teams, and other IT professionals to integrate DNS solutions seamlessly. Participate in project planning and execution.

  • Infoblox Grid Architecture Expertise.
  • Public cloud and Active Directory, Incident Response and Analysis.
  • Implement and manage DNS security features, including DNSSEC and Response Policy Zones (RPZs).
  • Infoblox Administration: Implement, configure, and maintain Infoblox DDI appliances to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • System Monitoring: Monitor DNS systems to detect and address performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and other anomalies.
