Junior Manager - Sales Project Manager

Your role in a nutshell:

The Junior Manager – Sales Project Management role is responsible for leading a team of mixed seniority of Sales Project Management Specialists and Proposal and Content Specialists who deliver positive outcomes on some of VSOL’s pursuits. This is a leadership role that requires a deep understanding of VSOL’s services as well as the macro-economic factors that influence decision making. The role requires understanding of internal and external Customer business models and requirements, and the ability to form and lead a high performing team culture to deliver best in class services. Acts as SPOC to key stakeholders for inquiries and escalations, supports the execution of business transformation projects, identifying risks and proactively works with business stakeholders to diagnose and remediate execution gaps and resolve risks.

At a strategic level, the role will drive:
• End-to-End Pursuit Management: Support of their team in overseeing the entire sales lifecycle of a pursuit, coordinating the strategy, planning, and execution of each step from qualification to close.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration and Compliance: Facilitate effective collaboration across their team and other supporting teams, including deal teams, ensuring compliance with internal policies and efficient use of business development resources.
• Sales Efficiency and Success Rate Improvement: Enhance business development efficiency, increase win rates, and shorten sales cycles by optimizing pursuit processes and delivering best practices

What you’ll do:

Leadership and teamwork:
• Ensure that the agreed processes are delivered in an effective and timely manner, and that opportunities for continuous development are identified in all areas in scope
• Provide regular, constructive feedback to maximize positive impact of individual team member’s talent
• Growing seniority and caliber of own team
• Manage career development of team members. Support, develop and coach the team members
• Provide business vision, clear definition of roles, responsibilities, individual goals and performance objectives; Set and measure KPIs


Pursuit Management and Win Strategy Development:
• Conduct ongoing qualification assessments to ensure that each pursuit aligns with strategic goals and has a high probability of success.
• Oversee and manage the cross-functional pursuit workplan, establishing timelines, milestones, and governance structures to track progress and address challenges.

Resource Mobilization and Governance:
• Mobilize and coordinate resources for each pursuit, ensuring that each deal team is properly supported and equipped to execute the strategy effectively.
• Identify and manage all necessary internal approvals throughout the pursuit process, ensuring that the solution, pricing, and other key aspects align with internal guidelines.
• Manage post-submission activities, including orals preparation, to ensure consistency and alignment with the initial proposal.

Client Engagement and Competitive Positioning:
• Facilitate strategic client interactions throughout the sales process, managing communications and ensuring that client needs and expectations are met.
• Lead competitive intelligence gathering to inform positioning strategies and counter potential competitor strengths.
• Leverage client insights to adjust strategies and enhance engagement, fostering positive client relationships and commitment.

Sales Process Optimization and Best Practices:
• Guide the pursuit teams in following best practices for pursuit management, ensuring that every step is optimized for efficiency, compliance, and effectiveness.
• Be a key part of Win/Loss reviews and capture and communicate lessons learned and insights from each pursuit to the Pursuit Services team and other stakeholders, continuously enhancing the team’s capabilities.

Budget and Resource Optimization:
• Optimize the use of business development funds, ensuring resources are effectively allocated to support high-priority pursuits.
• Provide expertise in identifying and securing necessary resources to enable pursuit success, ensuring that budgets are adhered to and deliver maximum ROI.
• Report across VOIS on BD efficiency vs Sales and Revenue

What you’ll bring to the team

• 5+ years experience in People Management specifically in a global multi-national environment
• 7+ years of experience in pursuit management, bid management, or a similar role within a B2B or consulting environment.
• Proven track record of managing complex sales processes and large-scale pursuits.
• Strong project management skills, with a focus on organizing cross-functional teams and coordinating resources.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
• Ability to analyze competitive positioning and develop strategies to neutralize competition effectively
