What you’ll do
Role purpose: To play an imperative business partnering and HR support role that contributes to the overall success of MAST HR Business Unit.
Who you are
• Key accountabilities and decision ownership :
HR Service Delivery:
• Supports the HR Team to deliver activities related, but not limited to resourcing, reward and recognition, learning and development, PD and talent, culture/change and employee engagement.
• Uses communication skills to exchange ideas and information in a concise and logical way
• Acts as a point of contact for the business function and resolves problems using established precedents and methods to ensure all business areas’ issues are resolved;
• May act as the HR systems/tools expert;
• Deliver against FTE, contractor & employment Opex targets in business areas and support business in managing the payroll budget and headcount on planning tool
• Ensure governance in terms of legislative requirements in terms of record keeping, reporting and adherence to policies
Relationship Management & Partnering
• Build a high support relationship with various stakeholders and ensure optimal management of key stakeholders
• ‘Walk the tightrope’ of being part of the business areas yet maintaining an objective HR perspective.
• Build strong relationships with the HR ERP system owners to provide effective and efficient support on any HR Payroll and Admin queries
On-boarding & Off-boarding
• End to end management of on-boarding and induction for all new staff and being a port of call for new staff members Innovation in terms of HR first level engagement for all new staff members
• End to end management of off-boarding and exit process for staff terminating
• Reporting of exit trends to the HR Team
Support to EHOD & HRBP
• Support the HRBPs and EHOD and manage these stakeholders effectively to meet your deliverables.
• Plan & consolidate HR weekly and monthly reports for Exco
• Accountable for ensuring that HRBP’s have a view of monthly trend report for their portfolio’s
• Support to HRBP’s on HR Projects
• Support on any COIDA/Injury on duty related queries
• Adhoc requirements relating to effective functioning of the HR team
Learning & Development
• Ensure business compliance to the MAST L&D Policy
• Support on L&D Administration and the Bursary process
• Manage and maintain relationships with key partners
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
• Foundational knowledge and experience of delivering good employee experience
• Exposure to Business Partnering with people management
• Excellent Microsoft office skills, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong capability to manage data with vlookups, formulae, pivots, dashboards, etc
• Strong relationship management with key stakeholders
• Great attention to detail considering large amount of data the incumbent will be required to work with
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
• 3year degree/diploma (e.g. Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business Management, etc.) - essential
• A post-graduate qualification would be advantageous
• 3+ years experiences working in HR administration and/or generalist function
