Role Purpose

This role is responsible for shaping, influencing, and managing the external regulatory and policy environment to enable sustainable business growth, protect the company’s license to operate, and support long-term investment.

The role leads strategic engagement with regulators, government entities, policy-makers, and Government authorities, ensuring regulatory certainty, policy alignment, and constructive stakeholder relationships while safeguarding the company’s commercial, operational, and reputational interests.

Role Description

Lead all engagements with the telecommunications regulator and relevant authorities.

Anticipate regulatory risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Ensure full compliance with license conditions and regulatory obligations.

Lead crisis-related regulatory coordination during major incidents or national events.

Develop and execute a public policy agenda aligned with national digital transformation priorities.

Represent the company in industry forums, working groups, and policy consultations.

Build evidence-based policy positions supported by economic, technical, and social impact analysis.

Build and maintain trusted relationships

Act as the primary interface between the company and government stakeholders.

Support national initiatives and align company investments with government priorities.

Enable senior leadership engagements with ministers and senior officials.

Minimum Experience

  • Deep understanding of telecommunications regulation and public policy
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  • Political and regulatory intelligence
  • Crisis management and judgment under pressure
  • Strategic thinking with strong execution discipline
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory issues into business impact

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 12–18+ years of experience in:
  • Regulatory affairs
  • Public policy
  • Government relations or closely related fields in regulated industries
  • Proven experience engaging at ministerial and regulator level
  • Background in telecoms, technology, financial services, or infrastructure preferred
