About this Role

We are seeking a Core Monitoring Engineering Specialist to design, implement, support and continuously enhance enterprise monitoring platforms that serve Vodafone Group and local markets globally. This role offers the opportunity to work across large-scale monitoring and observability environments, contribute to technology transformation initiatives, collaborate with stakeholders across multiple countries, and help deliver innovative monitoring solutions that improve service visibility, operational efficiency and customer experience. The successful candidate will play an important role in engineering monitoring platforms, evaluating new technologies, supporting solution design activities, and driving automation and integration initiatives.

What you’ll do

Design, install, configure, build and deploy enterprise monitoring environments and monitoring tool platforms. Deliver proof of value and proof of concept activities to demonstrate platform capabilities and support business growth opportunities.Assess emerging technologies and vendors, identifying opportunities to improve monitoring capabilities and services.Develop and implement technical solutions, integrations and automation aligned to customer and business requirements. Support project and transition planning through technical expertise, solution estimations and design decisions.Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects and process owners to define, design and deliver monitoring solutions.Contribute to the successful delivery of monitoring system implementations and engineering projects within agreed timelines.

Who you are

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.Experience working within service management, monitoring, observability or IT operations environments.Knowledge of monitoring and IT operations management platforms, including Micro Focus ITOM technologies such as Operations Bridge, Universal Discovery, SiteScope, BSM/APM and related solutions.Experience creating technical designs and low-level design documentation for engineering solutions.Understanding of ITIL and IT service management processes, particularly change and configuration management.Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities with a structured approach to delivery.Experience with API development, SQL, scripting and programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, PowerShell, Perl or Shell scripting.Knowledge of Linux and Windows administration, web application servers and enterprise application environments.Exposure to cloud-native technologies, containerisation and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.Effective stakeholder management, communication and documentation skills.Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and take ownership of deliverables.
