About this role

Location: Paddington OR Newbury We are seeking an AI Solution Architect to design and deliver advanced AI architectures that support Vodafone’s strategic pillars of Customer, Simplicity and Growth. Based in Spain and working within the Group Technology – AI, Data and Analytics function, the individual will play a pivotal role in driving innovation, enhancing data-driven decision-making, and embedding scalable, secure and reusable AI solutions across the organisation. This role partners closely with data scientists, engineers and cross-market stakeholders, with matrix collaboration spanning the UK, Spain, Germany, VOIS Egypt and VOIS India.

What you’ll do

  • Design and implement AI solution architectures aligned with Vodafone’s technology and business strategies.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers and multi-disciplinary teams to develop, integrate and optimise AI solutions.
  • Ensure all AI solutions are scalable, resilient, secure and efficient.
  • Apply the latest advancements in AI, machine learning and Generative AI to enhance existing capabilities and introduce new innovation opportunities.
  • Provide technical leadership, direction and architectural guidance to delivery teams.
  • Champion Responsible AI principles, including Ethical AI frameworks and compliance with the EU AI Act.
  • Contribute to efficient delivery of AI use cases and support timely, high‑quality project execution.

Who you are

  • Experienced in AI and machine learning, including hands-on work with frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java or C++.
  • Knowledgeable in cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
  • Skilled in data processing and storage technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, SQL).
  • Familiar with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment.
  • Strong in analytical thinking, problem-solving and translating complex technical requirements into practical solutions.
  • An effective communicator with excellent collaboration skills, comfortable working in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Organised and proactive, with a mindset geared towards innovation and continuous improvement.
